The Teacher

Christopher Valauri is pianist and multi-faceted musician with two decades of experience in studying the language of music. He has composed a substantial catalogue of original songs in styles including cinematic, orchestral, rock, electronic, folk, dance, pop, and abstract/experimental music.  He is also a talented improviser and interpreter of popular songs.  

Christopher’s diverse creative background gives him the flexibility to deliver personalized music instruction to students of many different ages, interests, and levels.  His free-spirited and empathic personality has made him especially suited to working with children and awakening in them the musical passion that can fuel both serious study and broader character growth.  He is also a great fit for professional adults and for other artists looking to develop their tools, as well as current piano students seeking a more complete and flexible understanding of music.  For Christopher, teaching is an extension of his overall interest in the power of art, the importance of community, and the mysterious spark of “transmission” that occurs in moments of true teaching and learning alike.
